Introduction After a Hong Kong judge ruled in August 2005 that laws prohibiting gay sex by men under the age of 21 were discriminatory, Victor Chau, editor of a gay magazine, told the BBC News website about life as a gay man in Hong Kong. In many ways the gay community in Hong Kong is quite apolitical. Our readers are probably more interested in models than morals. But a lot has been happening that affects our rights. The government is now appealing against the recent court ruling. A lot is at stake.
